Random act of silliness

Have you seen that TV commercial for some cable or phone company where they tout how efficient and wireless they are as opposed to U-verse, which is supposedly the opposite of all that? My friend and I love the commercials because the antagonist, U-verse, is represented as a talking pile of communication-type wires and paraphernalia. And "he" has this gravelly voice like he smokes too much.

Well, we discovered she had a U-verse of her own when she was trying to knit leg warmers out of this bouclé-type yarn she bought. As she was working with the skein, it grew into this unruly bundle of a mess. I swear it literally grew. If you're not aware,  a bouclé yarn is highly textured and usually considered bulky. Hers was in a really cool color scheme, mostly black with some jewel tones in it. It would have made great leg warmers except that with bouclé, you can't see your stitch definition at all. And since it's bulky, by the time you put a leg warmer on, your calf circumference increases by approximately one inch. This is what I consider an "undesirable side effect." Kind of like those explained in the "fine print" voice on drug commercials.

"Side effects may include nausea, vomiting, infections of the lung, kidney and ascending colon...."

You know what I mean.

So, I found a new project for her bouclé. To become U-verse's cousin. A slightly off-kilter version of U-verse. Not really a great conversationalist.

Disclaimer: Only two ping pong balls were compromised for this demonstration.

If you are interested in this project, you should probably seek medical attention.
